Why You Need A Facebook Page And How To Effectively Create One
In the world of Internet marketing, building your presence around a popular social networking site such as Facebook is one of the most crucial decisions that you can make for your online business. Facebook has more than one billion active users that exchange trillions of objects such as web links, stories, blog posts, photographs, and videos each and every month. If you are able to build a strong web presence on Facebook then your business will skyrocket. Guaranteed. Think about it, over a billion people on Facebook every month. Where else do you have the opportunity to expose your business to that many people in one place? Nowhere.
Point: You Need A Facebook Page.
In order to promote yourself, your business, your products, et cetera, you need a Facebook page and you need to make sure that page is properly set up so that Facebook can use it to bring you business. Learning how to leverage Facebook to increase your exposure and generate traffic to your business is essential. In fact, it is so crucial, that the amount of traffic that you generate from Facebook alone could mean the difference between your success and failure. Therefore, I’ve written a book called More Facebook Everything to help you with this. Be sure to check it out.
Hopefully, you already have a page created. In that case, all you need to do is make sure that you have it properly set up so that it can work for you on Facebook. If you don’t have one, don’t worry; creating a Facebook page is very easy. Remember, that there are excellent how-to videos in the How To Social Media Playlist by Spencer Coffman on YouTube. Take a look at the videos and you will learn how to set up all the social media accounts you need. There is also a nice video on how to set up a Facebook page. Go ahead and watch the video so you can see how it is done as well as reading about it in this article. Once again, the main point is that you need a Facebook page.
How To Create A Facebook Page
In order to create a page, the first thing you need to do is log into your Facebook account. When you are on your home feed, you will use the “create a page” link either on the sidebar of the home screen or by using the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner by your name, privacy, settings, et cetera.
Once you land on that page, you will choose your page category and continue on to the next step where you will enter all of the details about your page. Make sure to be as detailed and specific as possible. This way Facebook will know who may be interested in your page.
The main purpose of a Facebook page is to reach out to Facebook users and expand your audience. Obviously, it is very important for you to build a strong following of Facebook users if you want your page to succeed. Arguably, one of the most effective ways of doing this is to make sure you fill out ALL of the details about your page. Hopefully, you have already done this, but if you haven’t then you need to take the time and sift through the details of your page and make sure that you have everything as complete as possible.
This means you need to have paragraphs of written information telling viewers what your page is about. You need to be detailed and specific. Make them want to like your page as a result of reading the description. It is essentially a sales letter. You are selling your page to other Facebook users. Of course, they are not giving you any money for your page, but they are giving you a like. And you and I both know, people on Facebook are pretty stingy with their likes. Therefore, when filling out your page details, make sure you have links, names, contact information, and anything else that Facebook suggests.
Facebook Will Work For You To Promote Your Page
Having everything completely filled out will greatly help to promote your page. Facebook will take all of those settings, details, and any other information and use it to suggest your page to targeted people who may be interested in your page. Facebook will use its algorithms, and it will know whether or not people are interested in your page. It will then choose people and display your page on their feed because they have liked similar pages or posts. Therefore, it is absolutely essential that you have all of the information filled out. It is very important that you are as detailed as possible when filling out the information. You need to really hone in on your potential customers because the more specific you are, the better Facebook can promote your page.
Think about it. If Facebook starts displaying your page on the feeds of other people and those people like your page as a result, then Facebook is going to continue promoting your page. However, if your settings are too broad and Facebook displays your page without very many people liking it, then they are going to stop promoting your page. Facebook is an algorithm that is programmed to continue doing that which gets results. So, again, make sure you are detailed and specific. That way Facebook will continue to promote your page for you, for FREE.
Get It Done
So, if you don’t already have all of the details filled out for your page, or pages, take a break from whatever you are doing and complete that task right away. You need a Facebook page and you must fill out ALL of the information to the best of your ability. Take the time and do it right. Get it filled out and Facebook will index your page and begin suggesting it to potential likers right away. This will do wonders for your page and you will soon notice that your likes will continue to grow as a result of Facebook working for you.
