So many people want to get in shape. The trouble is that most of those people want to get in shape as quickly and easily as possible. They don’t want to do a lot of work or have to change their lifestyle. They simply want it to happen.
Well, it’s not going to work. If you want to get in shape, then you are going to have to work for it. Now, that doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym every day sweating and working out until you can hardly stand.
No, you can make a few simple changes to your daily lifestyle and get in shape in no time. Sure, you may not be an Olympic athlete, but you will be in good physical health.
So, what’s secret to getting in shape and becoming a healthier you? Simply put, Diet and Exercise. Virtually everyone has heard of those two dreadful words. However, like it or not, that is the way to fitness.
Dieting is pretty straightforward. You need to change your diet and start eating healthier foods. Exercise is a little vaguer. However, there are two main types of exercise that are amazing for your health. They are Cardio and Weight Training.
Cardio is great for your stamina, and weight training is an excellent calorie burner. Therefore, without further ado, here are three easy ways to use diet and exercise so that you will finally be able to get in shape as quickly and easily as possible.
There are millions and millions of diet plans on the market. You can find a diet for anything, blood types, diseases, men, women, children, et cetera. Unfortunately, the majority of these diet plans were created for one reason, to make money.
The world is filled with people who want to lose weight and will buy any mass marketed dieting product that promises weight loss. However, the whole of dieting boils down to one simple diet. What’s more, is that this diet will work for everyone because it is based on our bodies.
We are all human beings. We are all mammals. Therefore, take a look at what other mammals eat and see how their health is. I don’t mean other human mammals. I’m talking about animals. They thrive on eating simple foods and are in great physical condition.
They have to be in order to survive. Therefore, if humans began dieting in a way that is similar to wild animals, then they too would be in great health.
How can you do this? Simple. You need to eat whole foods. Throw out all of the mass-produced, preservative-filled food and start eating the food that comes directly from this earth. Instead of eating a byproduct of something, eat the source.
Don’t eat refined crystallized sugar from a beat.
Eat raw cane sugar. Or better yet, try not to eat any sugar at all. If you cut out all of that great tasting junk food and start eating “real” food then you will be well on your way to getting in shape.
A significant part of your diet needs to be protein. If you want to be healthy you need to eat very few carbs and starches and a lot of protein and vegetables. Fruit is okay as well, but keep in mind that fruit has a lot of sugar. Try to eat only two to four servings of whole grains a day and only two to four starches a day, things like potatoes and corn are a starch.
Forget the food pyramid. Eating twelve carbs a day is why America is so obese. Cut the carbs and load up on protein and vegetables. Do animals in the wild eat carbs? No. They eat protein, vegetables, and fruit.
Cardio is an exercise that many people hate. It is a lot of work. However, it doesn’t have to be. Cardio doesn’t need to consist of running five miles or spending an hour on the elliptical. In fact, that form of cardio doesn’t really help you at all. When you perform an exercise like that, your body will plain off.
Your heart rate will become consistent and you will burn calories at a flat rate. However, if you perform short intervals of high-intensity workouts your body will burn fat at a much higher rate.
Your heart rate will increase and decrease, your muscles will be pushed harder in a shorter amount of time and you will get in shape faster than ever.
Therefore, instead of going for a jog try things such as doing jumping jacks, running up and down stairs, burpees, mountain climbers on the floor, et cetera. Combine that with seeing how many pushups or sit-ups you can do in two minutes. Then after the two minutes do another cardio exercise. Then do twenty or so pushups at a slow pace.
The key is to mix it up.
You can’t let your body flat line and become used to the exercise. You need to trick it. Perform this type of exercise for ten minutes everyday or for twenty minutes three times a week and you will be amazed at the results. Weight training is probably one of the best ways to burn calories. Lifting weights burns roughly twice as many calories as going for a run. In addition, it builds muscle and isn’t hard on your body. Building muscle mass is essential if you want to get in shape.
Muscle burns calories. So having a muscle mass will help you burn calories faster. Now, you don’t need to bulk up like a bodybuilder. However, you do need to become toned so that you are a lean machine.
There are many ways in which you can build muscle. Of course, the ideal way is to use weights. However, if you don’t have a gym membership or a home gym, there are other ways. A great way is to start doing some pushups.
Start out on day one doing as many pushups as you can. Every other day for a week do that many pushups.
Then start doing one more pushup each day. That will really help build muscle. You can apply this same technique with pull-ups, which is another excellent way to build muscle. Simply get one of the doorframe pull up bars and you’ll be set.
Basically, getting in shape starts with a mindset. You need to decide that you want to get in shape. Then you need to put the time and effort into doing it. Start out with a great diet that is high in protein and low in carbs and processed foods.
Then start doing some high-intensity workouts and some strength training exercises to build muscle. Make these three things a part of your life and you will be in much better shape in only a few weeks.
