Search Engine Optimization is something that everyone wants to be good at. Fortunately, there are many SEO tools out there for you to use, almost too many. How do you decide what’s best for you and within your budget? The good thing is that there are some great tools that you can use that are free or inexpensive.

Keyword Research Tool

The first one is called FreshKey. This is an amazing software program that runs through Adobe Air and is very useful for keyword research. It’s super easy to use, all you do it type in a keyword and FreshKey will show you all related keywords and their rank. You can search on Google, Amazon, YouTube, and a number of other places. Here is a video of it in action.

Page Analysis Tool

The second tool is called SEO Quake and it is a Google Chrome extension. This extension is amazing and can do things comparable to Alexa, Moz, and other similar services. The best part is that SEO Quake is completely free to use. Go ahead and add the extension right away so you can start viewing all of the stats for any web page you visit.

Link Building, Pinging, and Indexing

Link building is a large process and if you need to know a little more about it you can read this great article. There are several link-building tools that I love to use. In my opinion, when building, pinging, and indexing links you should use as many different services as possible.

SEM Rush is a nice service that you can connect with the SEO Quake extension to help view backlinks. I personally only use the free account. As far as building links, there are a number of online tools you can use, but the quality of the links is uncertain. Therefore, I recommend having links built for you or purchasing a software product to do it yourself.

Once you have your links, you need to ping them so that people will know about the links. You can do this yourself on places like PingFarm or Mass-Ping. Both work well and are free to use.

When it comes to indexing your links there are a few different online tools you can use. The best free one is IndexKings and it submits your URL to many different directories. You can also pay someone on Fiverr to do this for you and probably get better results.

In addition, often times, software products that you purchase will have the capability to build, ping, and index your links. Link Indexr is a great tool you can use to do this.

The main thing is that you need to stay on top of what you are doing. Use FreshKey to research keywords and consistently put out content on your website. Then, take all of those new URL’s and get backlinks built, ping them, and submit them to as many directories as possible.

Monitor the status of your URL’s using SEO Quake. Persistence is the key to success and if you keep working at it, your SEO will eventually boost. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen over time.
